We are recruiting for an exciting 40-hour Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator position on our Medication Safety Team!

The Medication Safety Team Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator shall be responsible for:

  • Event triage and follow up, ACAs, trend reporting, REMS requirements and directing QI initiatives.
  • Monitoring and overseeing daily clinical and administrative operations of designated unit/program/service, and providing direct pharmaceutical care.
  • Assisting with preparation of staff schedules, prioritizing and coordinating work assignments and allocating resources to meet patient care and operational requirements.
  • Providing leadership and supervision for clinical staff, participating in hiring, training, evaluation, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with established procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinating clinical education programs and facilitating performance improvement for pharmacists and technicians.
  • Promoting participation in clinical education and research through precepting residents, students, and interns and mentoring staff.
  • Leading and participating in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.
  • Developing, recommending, and implementing internal standards, guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures to improve quality and cost effectiveness of patient care.
  • Assisting Director in budget preparation, drug expense management, and strategic planning.
  • Assisting with the operations of the Central Pharmacy
  • Managing a team of up to 10 direct reports.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Doctorate preferred. MA Pharmacist license and a minimum of 4 years advanced practice experience; 5-7 years advance practice and supervisory experience highly preferred
  • Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs
  • Interpersonal skills in order to manage the pharmacy staff members under supervision as well as to interact effectively with prescriber, nursing and other healthcare personnel within the hospital

Schedule is M-F, days with a rotating weekend
