THE JOB:

As a Security Officer, you will act as a visual deterrent, intervene and respond to all levels of security and potential emergency needs including acts or threats of violence, emergencies, and life safety threats. This position requires specialized training and great customer service to give all of our guests that MGM Resorts WOW experience.

STARTING PAY:$19.00 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Actively patrol and monitor all areas of the property through rotating assignments, including the exterior using variousmodes of transportation. Patrolling may include, but not limited to, bending, lifting, carrying, running, and extended timeperiods of standing and/or walking.
• Perform all necessary duties as trained in order to respond in emergency situations, including but not limited to:Rendering appropriate first aid
• * CPR/AED Responsive Care, including, as needed, retrieving and utilizing the CPR/AED equipment and followingestablished protocols
• * Initiating and conducting evacutation procedures
• * The ability to push, pull, lift, carry, or move (in some circumstances) another individual, including one who may beinjured
• * The ability to physically engage, and where necessary restrain, a person who is threatening or poses a harm tohim/herself or others
• * The ability to move from location to location (including use of stairs and ramps) at appropriate speeds o Securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, andsummon emergency responders to the incident
• Rotating to monitor alarm system and surveillance cameras, perform gaming drops/transactions, including carrying dropboxes and chip carriers, perform dispatcher duties in emergent and non-emergent situations using appropriate equipment.
• Handle crisis and/or emergency situations calmly and efficiently
• Provide excellent guest service to guests and employees and resolve complaints and issues involving both guests andemployees
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as property damage, theft, guest or employee accidents, or unusualoccurrences
• Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned equipment

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Candidates will be required to satisfactorily pass a security officer training academy
• Successfully attend and pass all recurring mandatory legal, defensive tactics, first aid, CPR/AED response simulation, andother training, as well as physical requirements, as a condition of employment
• Ability to learn, demonstrate proficiency and effectively use defensive tactics and handcuffing techniques
• Ability to participate and respond in emergency situations, including evacuations procedures to aid guests and employeesduring an emergency
• Ability to exhibit full range of motion and can move quickly between the sitting, kneeling and standing positions.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout a shift.
• Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds.
• Ability to climb stairs and ramps in order to perform security patrol.
• Ability to evaluate, compile, coordinate, and disseminate information, make sound judgement, and respond accurately andquickly to changing situatons
• Ability to operate assigned equipment
• Ability to learn, demonstrate proficiency and effectively use various computer software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.
• As described above, this position requires moderate to arduous physical exertion and/or duties of a hazardous nature, aswell as involvement in stressful situations.
