Job Description:

The Bellarmine University Division of Student Affairs has an immediate opening for an Assistant/Associate Director for Campus Wellness who will enrich the student experience by implementing programs that foster student wellness. The position also serves the wellness needs of faculty and staff members. The position leverages campus resources and impacts the mind, body, and spirit of Bellarmine community members. This highly collaborative position works closely with programming in several functional areas on campus, including but not limited to Academic Departments, Human Resources, Health Services, Counseling Services, Residence Life, Student Activities, and The Office of Identity and Inclusion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of theory-based and evidence-informed health promotion practices, programs, and services.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including on- and off-campus faculty, student organizations, and campus departments, to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to health for students and staff/faculty.
  • Oversee all components of the Peer Wellness Education program, including recruitment, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating student-staff, as well as empowering students to develop outreach programs/events and present on various health and wellness topics.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive wellness promotion communication plan, including marketing, social media, and campus communication.
  • Partner with academic faculty members to develop projects, programs, and interventions that contribute to the empirical evidence of wellness initiatives at Bellarmine University.
  • Participate in leading the campus wellness committee and develop health promotion strategies, policies, programs, and services based on campus needs and priorities.
  • Serve as advisor for various Registered Student Organizations (RSO) for student organizations relevant to student health and wellness.
  • Conduct need assessments to acquire relevant data about wellness issues, including attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions about wellness behaviors and the influence of environmental factors that contribute to risky practices.
  • Manage department and grant-funded budgets and seek other funding sources for wellness initiatives.
  • May have the opportunity to instruct credited academic courses on wellness and student success.


Requirements:

  • A master's degree in College Student Personnel, Public Health, Health/Wellness Promotion, or a related field is required.
  • 2 to 5 years of full-time experience in health promotion or a related field is required.
  • Experience in higher education, academic faculty collaboration, assessment, and campus programming is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work with diverse constituencies, knowledge of principles of student development, and a strong student-centered philosophy.
  • Experience managing and motivating staff, faculty, and students is essential, as is a personal demeanor that inspires excellence and collaboration.
