GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Pediatric Neuropsychiatry and Immunology Program (PNIP) at Massachusetts General Hospital is looking for a clinical coordinator to assist with research focused on pediatric Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal infection (PANDAS). Under the direction of Kyle Williams, MD, PhD, the PNIP's interdisciplinary teams has ongoing research studies that include neuroimaging, neurocognitive testing, clinical trials, and data collection from pediatric patients in the clinic. The position will report to Dr. Williams, as well as the Director of Research for the PNIP, and be responsible for the oversight and execution of various research studies.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Please note, the functions below are representative of major duties that are typically associated with these positions. Specific responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. Similarly, not all duties that have been outlined will be assigned to each position.

* Assists with recruiting patients for clinical trials

* Obtains patient study data from medical records, physicians, etc.

* Conducts library searches

* Performs administrative support duties as required

* Updates study forms per protocol

* Documents patient visits and procedures

* Provides basic explanation of study and in some cases obtains informed consent from subjects

* Verifies subject inclusion/exclusion criteria

* Maintains research data, patient files, regulatory binders and study databases

* Responsible for quality control

* Acts as study resource for patient and family

* Administers study questionnaires

* Assists with preparation for annual review

* Files adverse events with IRB

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Careful attention to details

  • Computer literacy
  • Working knowledge of clinical research protocols
  • Ability to demonstrate respect and professionalism for subjects' rights and individual needs

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field are encouraged to apply

EXPERIENCE:

  • New graduates with some relevant course/project work or those without any prior research experience will be considered for the Clinical Research Coordinator I position outlined above.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • A Clinical Research Coordinator I does not have any supervisory responsibility.
