Here at Entegris, we use advanced science to enable technologies that transform the world, and we are seeking employees who have the drive to continue that mission.WORK LOCATION: Billerica, MACore Purpose:Reporting to the Automation and Controls Engineering Team, the intern will collaborate with Engineers from Manufacturing and R&D to improve and troubleshoot equipment automation. Project difficulty will be determined by past experience and current business needs. In this role, you will:*Have exposure to safety standards of manufacturing equipment. Participate is monthly site safety assessments with team.*Receive introduction to programming using ladder logic using AB Programmable Logic Controllers. *Complete a project using Ignition Scada programming working with Process team.*Work in fast paced production environment with hope of future hire opportunity.*Train on use of Ignition Scada system used as equipment HMI. Make changes to existing programs and create new ones.*Assist with troubleshooting production plant-floor equipment. Proper trouble shooting techniques will be introduced as specific problems occur. *Participate in design reviews and offer feedback on new capital equipment. Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing where permissible.*Program factory automation components such as Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interfaces, Servos, and field instrumentation.*Troubleshoot manufacturing equipmentYou're a good fit if you have:*Passion for hands on work, desire to understand how things are made and how machines work.*Analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.*Good interpersonal skills and clear and effective communication skills.*Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.*Computer/Networking skills.Desired Major & Graduation Date:Desired Major: Computer/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical EngineeringMust be enrolled in an undergraduate/MS program with a graduation date of December 2025 or later.Your success will be measured by: *Working collaboratively to understand the ask and guarantee the results are what the requestor wanted is a major part of this role. *Creative and Innovative solutions to solving engineering problems is the goal. There are many ways to solve most problems. A creative solution may be the one that can be implemented faster or cheaper.
