Exciting things are happening at Edwards Vacuum where we manufacture a wide variety of industrial vacuum pumps for the semiconductor industry! We are experiencing strong ongoing demand and have recently moved into a brand-new facility in Haverhill, MA. Haverhill offers beautiful sights and is located half-way between the City of Boston and the beautiful New England Seacoast.

The Human Resource Administrator will perform administrative tasks to support effective and efficient operations of the human resource team and provide employee relations support to employees and their managers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the HR team to provide support as needed on highly confidential human resource matters and special projects.
  • Serves as the primary payroll coordinator ensuring new hire profiles are established and timeclock punches are complete. Sets-up and administers paid time off. Monitors timesheets for tardiness, meal periods, absenteeism, etc. and conduct investigations in time abuse situations. Coordinates with Corporate Compensation on the review, approval and processing of annual bonus and merit increases.
  • Supports recruitment, employee relations, training, and employee/organizational development initiatives as needed. May include scheduling and/or confirmation of interviews, preparation of offer letters, and assembly of new hire orientation materials.
  • Working with HR Generalist and/or HR Manager, prepares first draft of performance warnings with the appropriate backup documentation.
  • Assists with interviewing activity for hiring hourly employees coordinating with managers, seeking post-interview candidate feedback and coordinating offer with the manager and recruiter.
  • Initiates candidate/new hire background/drug screenings and manages preparation of new employee onboarding paperwork.
  • Enter new hires, changes, terms into HRIS and payroll systems. Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic human resource/employee files.
  • Conducts new hire orientations and completes I9 forms. Manages I9 document files and monitors expiration date of documents to ensure timely update to prevent lapse in authorization dates.
  • Supports planning and delivery of annual benefit health fair and open enrollment processes.
  • Coordinates leave of absence (FMLA and other leaves) filing, ensures ongoing communication with employees to prevent lapses in the approval/administration process. Works with Benefits Center as needed.
  • Supports training and development activities including assignment of courses, conducting sessions with small groups of employees, tracks completion rate of required courses and other activities as needed or assigned.
  • Develops and maintains HR work instructions as quick reference and training tools for HR processes including tasks that need to be performed by Leads, Supervisors and Managers i.e. setting and cascading goals, recording 1:1 dialog, adding a course to Learning Link, etc.
  • Assist with organizing company functions when needed.
  • Scanning, filing, administrative tasks.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 year experience in a Human Resource/Payroll setting; experience with Ceridian Payroll is REQUIRED.
  • Experience with onboarding activities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Basic knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to understand, maintain and utilize the HRIS systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; HR certification a plus.
  • Fluent in English language, written and verbal; Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
