Position Summary

Reporting to the Quality Manger, the Quality Coordinator provides hands-on quality assurance, inspection, problem solving, and root cause corrective actions of manufactured components. In this dynamic role, the QC will review and troubleshoot internal & external audit findings related to prevention and closure. This role interacts consistently across multiple areas, assisting in site quality assurance initiatives, and Starpoint facilitation. Essential Functions

  • Support the Quality Engineer & Manager with customer communication & resolution as needed to help plan, schedule, and coordinate quality functions, such as authorize returns, customer rework, nonconformance material reports, and sorting activities.
  • Participates in failure analysis and corrective action investigations. Develops and coordinates corrective action procedures and plans.
  • Reviews and interprets product/process drawings, specifications, and other applicable work instructions to determine pass/fail requirements for manufactured parts.
  • Lead internal and external quality audits for the site as needed.
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, reliability and accuracy of products and processes.
  • Support Parker's Zero-Defect Strategy by becoming a subject matter expert in the defect prevention tools utilized (e.g., PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, etc.)
  • Oversee and lead key business metrics such as Customer Returns, RPPM, Cost of Poor Quality, and Scrap for the manufacturing sites.
  • Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate well between departments, to notify leaders and engineers to problem solve issues.
  • Support company LEAN and High Performance team objectives to promote company culture such as leading Kaizen problem solving, Starpoint & natural teams in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use appropriate PPE for designated areas.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship or have U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
  • GED or High School Diploma required. Associates or Bachelors in a technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of quality or demonstrated equivalent experience required. Applied working knowledge of FAI, PPAP, 8D and quality standards (ISO, AS, IATF plus.
  • Experience with various inspection tools/equipment (VMM, Verniers, Keithley Multi-Meter) is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to perform advanced math calculations (measurements), reading blueprints/ drawings/ specifications a plus. Proficiency in writing and use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Must demonstrate organization skills and effective communication in verbal/written English.
  • Ability to lift and or move up to 40 lbs.
