About the role...
This opportunity is for a Research Associate with advanced expertise in
molecular biology and plant biotechnology to join Inari. As a Research Associate
you will participate in both the molecular characterization and plant
transformation teams. The position requires knowledge of various molecular
biology and tissue culture techniques and improvement processes. It will also
provide the opportunity to work with other scientists and stakeholders within the
company. The role is located at our Cambridge, MA site.
As a Research Associate you will...
* Perform experiments independently and with others related to gene editing,
plant transformation, and tissue culture using established protocols in multiple
crops of interest.
* Conduct experiments to explore new ways to achieve editing and/or
transformation
* Collaborate with Scientists and other Research Associates to execute
experiments related to one or more projects
* Maintain a high level of agility in uptake, execution, and communication of
findings
* Participate in ideation and troubleshooting of experimental protocols when
needed, and contribute to identification and implementation of solutions
* Participate in scientific discussions and communicate to individual contributors,
teams, and internal stakeholders
* Maintain a detailed, organized, and accurate lab notebook
* Work in a fast paced environment and deliver results on both high risk
experiments and established assays


You bring...
* A Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 1-5 years of work experience, or a
Master's degree in molecular or cell biology or biotechnology
* Demonstrated knowledge and wet-lab experience in molecular and/or biology
techniques such as PCR, qPCR/RT-qPCR, and nucleic acid isolation (DNA and
RNA)
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in tissue and cell culture
* Experience with aseptic technique and media preparation
* Ability to learn new technologies and techniques, develop and improve
protocols, and effectively communicate findings
* Adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, innate curiosity, and a passion
for developing high impact solutions
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced
environment
* Demonstrated organization, time management, and multitasking skills


Bonus Qualifications...
* Experience with gene editing and CRISPR-Cas technologies
* Experience with next generation seqencing workflows
* Experience with laboratory automation
* Experience with developing tissue culture techniques in commercially important
crops such as soybean, corn and wheat
