Job Description:

The Equipment Maintenance Technician Intern position is intended to provide part-time employment for a student enrolled in a 2-year technical or 4-year engineering degree program. The Intern will work under the supervision of senior technicians in an industrial setting at a semiconductor manufacturing facility. Primary work objectives include:

  • Assisting site technicians in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on semiconductor fabrication equipment.

  • Analyze Tool faults and failures to assist troubleshooting efforts and repair processes.

  • Operate Fab equipment under supervision to assess suitability for production use.

  • Other duties or projects may be assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a2-year technical school or 4-year university in an electrical or mechanical curriculum.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, architectural plans, and written specifications.

  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.

  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools.

  • Basic computer skills using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, sit, kneel, and stand for up to 3 hours at a time.

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. and push or drag up to 100 lbs.

  • Climb and descend ladders.

  • Grasp with both hands.

  • Lifting, pushing, climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing.

Work Environment:

The work environment includes cubicle office areas as well as industrial areas where noise and/or vibration, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes, or odors may be present. Some work is contained in a cleanroom environment.

Work schedule:

The work schedule is flexible to work around the candidate's education schedule.

This position is not eligible for Microchip immigration sponsorship.
