This Child Life Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Participating in therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, and facilitating adjustment to health care experiences for patients on our Behavioral Health cohort.
  • Serving as member of multidisciplinary team.
  • Delegating work assignments to volunteers and participates in clinical training of student interns.
  • Working 40 hours per week: four 10 hour days per week, with one weekend shift required per month.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life.
  • 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist.
  • General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experiencedbased knowledge.
  • Well-developed writing skills, and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution to effectively work as a team member.
  • Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire.
