The Opportunity: As a Camp Counselor at our summer camp, you will play a pivotal role in creating a memorable and enriching experience for our young campers. You will be responsible for supervising and engaging children in a variety of exciting outdoor and indoor activities, fostering their personal growth, and ensuring their safety throughout their camp journey.

Duties and Functions:

  • Lead and facilitate a wide range of age-appropriate activities, including sports, arts and crafts, nature exploration, and team-building exercises.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment by promoting teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship.
  • Create and implement daily lesson plans and activities that align with camp objectives.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in field trips and special events.
  • Provide guidance and support to campers in developing essential life skills.
  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized camp environment.
  • Assist with the setup and cleanup of camp activities and facilities.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications

Qualifications Standards:

  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
  • Previous experience working with children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for working with children.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass a background check and provide references.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to participate in camp activities.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to safety and child protection protocols.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and a sense of responsibility.
