Description

As a Sports Specialist, you will help children and youth grow and develop skills by guiding sportsmanship, helping them build long-lasting friendships, and setting individual and team goals. On a regular day, you will engage participants in a variety of seasonal sports, including but not limited to basketball, t-ball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, and pickleball. You will create a culture of high-quality experiences and engagement by implementing curriculum designed to provide skill progression and assisting with private rentals and parties. In the summer, you'll support seasonal camps and leagues. During basketball season you will lead skills and drills, coach team practices, referee games, manage equipment set up and take down, score keep, and create a fun safe environment for our participants. In this role, you will strive to improve all member and guest experiences through positive communication, relationship building, and direct service.

To thrive in this position you have the ability to teach and instruct young children of all abilities the techniques to develop skills in a variety of sports and games. You are flexible to adjust to evolving program needs, seasonal sports, and summer camp. You have experience leading, coaching, and participating in sports, with an interest in basketball in particular. This is the ideal position for those interested in working with youth and inspiring a love for sports.

Qualifications

You may be interested in this role if you envision becoming an Athletic Director, Sports Program Manager, Camp Director, or a Senior Leader at a non-profit organization. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in sports, or graduates with degrees in sports and recreation management, business, exercise science, sports medicine, education, physical education or other related fields.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Weekday schedule from 3:30pm to 6:30pm
  • Experience with sports leagues
