We are searching for a Mechanic to perform predictive and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems throughout the facilities, grounds and associated properties. Perform needed renovations. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and recommend solutions for corrective action. Maintain inventory of equipment and parts. Read and interpret building and mechanical blueprints, sketches, assembly and installation instructions.

  • Hours: 40hrs
  • Shift: Day shift with call, weekend and holiday rotation; 7:00am-3:30pm
  • Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanic related trade school or other related experience required.
  • 3-5 years related experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain general maintenance tools required.
  • Must pass SHG vehicle driver requirements.
  • Equipment operator (tractors etc) preferred.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, off hours and occasional on-call duties as needed required. Resume required.
  • Position will perform a variety of routine maintenance, renovations and installations of plantings on grounds, buildings and building systems.
  • Provide general equipment maintenance, troubleshoot equipment malfunctioning for the facility and assist all trades to complete required work as assigned.
  • State of MA 2nd Class Firemans License preferred.

Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus and provide required vaccination documentation unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
