Job Title: Direct Support Professionals - Awake/Overnight Staff (3 or 4 nights 11pm-9am)
Location: Pembroke, MA 02359
Salary: $18.00/hour (Awake)

What You'll Do:
Work directly with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to teach, assist, and to facilitate choices in their residences and within their community. Provide support to our individuals in their homes where they enjoy the highest quality of life.
Summary of Position:
Perform a variety of duties to assist residents during nighttime hours for an assigned residential housing unit which includes: assisting with health and safety; housekeeping; routine implementation of programs; documentation requirements; and for other similar duties necessary to resident nightly living functions in an assigned housing unit in adherence with New England Village, external agencies, programs' and state and local policies, regulations and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Provide assistance and supports to the nighttime needs of individuals including: personal hygiene; housekeeping requirements; health and safety; behavioral needs and other personal living requirements
2. Ensure that house is maintained in a clean, orderly and attractive manner performing such as laundry, changing bed linens, housekeeping, etc.
3. Implement, as assigned and in consultation with House Manager, established programs and procedures such as behavioral programs, medication administration, specialized diets, etc.
4. Assist residents prepare for the day including such as; prepare as needed breakfast, cleaning kitchen and dining areas. Assist residents with personal hygiene. Redirect residents to nighttime activities as appropriate.
5. Prepare and submit documentation, notes, data and other written and/or verbal reports has required or instructed.
6. Communicate regularly with coworkers, supervisors, others as appropriate for such as issues/concerns, etc.
8. Maintain required certifications and trainings.
Perform other similar duties as responsibilities necessitate or as requested by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma
  • Demonstrated ability to serve and care for people with disabilities and their families.
  • Valid MA drivers' license, with positive driving record required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be willing to become MAP certified
Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Performs resident assistance and support duties requiring the use of various procedures and the use of some judgment in the analysis of facts and circumstances surrounding individual problems and situations and in the method to be use to adequately complete the procedures.
2. Inside contacts involve providing or obtaining factual information where ordinary courtesy is required.
3. Work with some confidential data such as individual situations which if disclosed inadvertently would probably have little effect.
4. New England Village is a non-smoking facility
