Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) is seeking a Organic Chemist to join our CTM team based onsite in our Tewksbury, MA location. Under the general direction of the department manager, the Organic Chemist is responsible for the production of a wide variety of chemicals used for clinical trial materials and for research applications following procedures of moderate complexity under cGMP guidelines. This role also includes the development of new products as needed and the optimization or scale up of existing products.

Responsibilities:

  • Synthesize molecules intended for Clinical Trials Materials (CTM) under cGMP guidelines in CIL's GMP facility
  • Develop and optimize synthetic routes as necessary
  • Create new or revise procedures and batch records as needed
  • Participate in inter-departmental meetings
  • Participate in the preparation of project outlines for new projects
  • Maintain the labs with the required equipment and in good standing order
  • Participate in the production of an existing commercial-grade cGMP product as needed
  • Take part in regulatory audits as needed
  • Reports all incidents, safety hazards, or accidents to appropriate personnel
  • Attends mandatory safety education sessions to keep informed of changes regarding safety issues
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on organic chemistry laboratory experience
  • Master's degree preferred with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on organic chemistry laboratory experience
  • Ability to direct the workflow and monitoring the daily activities in the lab
  • Experience with NMR, GC, HPLC and MS data interpretation
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written, skills
  • Complete documentation with high level of accuracy
  • Regularly requires sitting, standing, bending and occasionally lifting or moving items of up to 50- pounds
