Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for working with the technical repair department to evaluate, estimate and repair high tech lab equipment including diagnostics, quoting process, repair, and answering technical questions. Support customer questions regarding diagnostics, quoting and repairs. Complete the repair and testing of high-tech equipment lines offered by Zahn dental and our vendors. Work within department infrastructure to provide quotes to customers and help to maintain an adequate parts inventory for each equipment line. Maintain the repair service line and complete repairs in a timely fashion with minimal supervision. Some travel to customer laboratories may be required for on-site evaluations and repairs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete required vendor trainings that support the diagnostics, repair and testing of equipment.
  • Follow proper troubleshooting steps to diagnose errors on technical problems and determine proper solution.
  • Document reason for repair and estimate the costs of repair needed to make equipment functional for use.
  • Work with Senior tech or department head to create quotes for each repair.
  • Complete each repair utilizing training and work instructions as maintained by the company QMS system.
  • Conduct repairs in Wakefield center and on customer business site as needed.
  • Support test and maintain loaner equipment. Assist with staging new system sales and logistical preparation for shipment.
  • Maintain daily schedules to complete all repair activity in a timely fashion.
  • Work directly with repair department manager on all reporting functions necessary to complete the job.
  • Process part order requests through appropriate channels.
  • Handle technical questions from customers and team members pertaining to the equipment.
  • Develop relationships with customers who have equipment in the repair pipeline for a good overall company experience.
  • Work efficiently with other department team members.
  • Back up trainers supporting installation of equipment on site for customers as needed.
  • Maintain industry awareness of OSHA laws and how they apply to state licensing requirements for this repair business expansion to make sure we are compliant with state and federal regulations.
  • Work with Technical Dept manager to make sure all communication on open issues is addressed in a timely fashion.
  • Support and participate in special projects as directed by department manager.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 3 or more years of related experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically High School education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training. Bachelor's degree preferred.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Position may require the delivery, installation and repair of Equipment involving Henry Schein customers. Technicians will be expected to maneuver large equipment as needed. The physical nature of the position, at times, may require substantial and/or repetitive bending, stopping, lifting and climbing of ladders. Travel up to 50%. Office environment. Must be able to lift 75lbs if required.

Salary Range

The posted range for this position is $36,360 - $63,640 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
