Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) is seeking a Logistics Manager to join the Supply Chain team based onsite in our Tewksbury, MA location. The Logistics Manager will coordinate with freight forwarders and common carriers for quotations, tracking information, pickups, and deliveries. This position will work closely with multiple departments to ensure timely pick up, transit and delivery of shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide shipment quotations to Customer Engagement, Strategic Pricing and Sales departments
  • Collaborate to determine the best shipment method, lead-time and prices and all restrictions associated with shipments to best guide the customer when choosing the best shipping method
  • Responsible for coordinating all necessary paperwork and pre-approvals with various stakeholder to ensure shipment leaves on time
  • Reports and resolves changes or delivery issues with both CIL Customer Engagement account coordinator and Freight Forwarders
  • Collaborate closely with Shipping Supervisor with requests and advice
  • Negotiate for services and preferential rates during the quoting process to support the sales team
  • Develop, own and deliver process flows to clearly identify the role of each stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain communication with sales teams, such as planning and cost validation
  • Participate in establishing carrier sourcing strategies, recommend selection of carriers, support/lead contract negotiations with strategic/regional/international carriers
  • Develop and report on common carrier metrics & performance, hold carriers accountable for their performance
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with laws (Hazmat, DOT), rules, and trade compliance regulations regarding inbound/outbound transportation operations
  • Collaborate closely with Trade Compliance Officer
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy and leverage technology solutions such as Transportation Management Systems (TMSs), fleet management systems, routing optimization, network modelling, carrier sourcing, and business analytics tools
  • Continuously strive for process improvement, through the implementation and standardization of processes

Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in transport management with 3rd party companies
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in international shipments (maritime and air), including China
  • Experience with ERP systems with transportation modules and TMS a strong asset
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills are required
  • Experience leading in a context of transformational change
  • Must have the ability to multitask, make decisions and problem solving
  • Strong organization skills required
