Under the direction of the Technical Director, this position performs non-invasive, peripheral vascular testing on inpatients and outpatients referred to Tufts Medical Center and provides preliminary interpretation to the referring physicians.
Responsibilities:
Performs non-invasive, peripheral vascular examinations. Must be proficient in peripheral venous testing, (DVT & VI), carotids, peripheral arterial duplex and physiological exams. Experience in TCD is preferred, but not required.
Responsible for generating preliminary reports for reading physicians and relaying preliminary interpretation to house staff and referring physicians. As a team, must be able to manage the daily schedule of outpatients and inpatients, by coordinating transport, add-on cases, and portable exams. Assist with the training of sonography students when they rotate through the lab.
Records bills for processing for all Vascular Laboratory procedures performed. Ensures that all pertinent information is appropriately filed for each patient.
Notifies Medical Engineering of any equipment problems.
Limited weekend on-call hours. All weekend cases must be approved by the on-call surgery fellow/resident.
