TheProduct Design and Modeling team has an opening for an Analyst, ProductResearch position that will drive pricing and non-pricing sophistication in theUS Design team and will contribute to enhancements to our personal lines ratingprograms. The Individual Contributor role will report to one of the Auto or Property/SpecialtyDesign Managers but also have opportunities to work on projects across personaland business lines as well as globally in partnership with the East & WestDesign team.
Responsibilities:
Build GLM loss costmodels using Emblem across Auto or Property/Specialty products, as well as adjacentproducts (e.g. Business Lines, East/West products, New Product initiatives)
Build complexnon-pricing models (e.g., models to identify customers for non-renewal)
Explore and utilizeadvanced modeling techniques (e.g., machine learning techniques and ElasticNets)
Work with massiveamounts of data to build sophisticated models
Collaborate withDelivery, State, and other teams to help implement new pricing programs,including supporting material and responding to DOI objections
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 yearsrelevant experience required.
Bachelor's degree required,
Experience with predictivemodeling and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem) highly desired.
Sound knowledge ofactuarial techniques and standards, as well as other business operationsincluding Financial, Underwriting, Legal, Statistics, Claims, Sales departments.
High-level knowledge ofdata sources, tools, and the business (lines, systems, pricing plans)
Strong MS Office Exceland SAS skills preferred; Ability to build complex models. Expert skills in Excel, PowerPoint highlydesired.
Ability to exchangeideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally andin writing.
