Are you fascinated by the design, process, and system? Do you enjoy driving the adoption of product design standards? You will lead and manage the product design standards team as they help drive consistently high quality in our products and services. In partnership with senior sponsors in the Development & Marketing organizations, you will set strategy and direction for product standards and guide development teams in applying and evolving these.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with a cross-functional management team to set strategy and direction of product standards, and keep key stakeholders in the loop as you drive standards forward.
  • Work with your team and product design experts to identify, document,
  • Manage and check compliance of product design standards.
  • Drive the rollout of new content to create consistency in our product standards used across the organization.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in your knowledge of software dev team concepts, practice and tools used at MathWorks in order to drive organizational adoption of new standards and best practices through thoughtful change management strategies.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 4-5 staff members. This team documents standards, tracks standards usage and application, create learning resources, provides in-depth consultation to specific teams and projects, and delivers regular report-outs to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience is required. 2 years management experience is required.
Additional Qualifications
  • STEM-related degree
  • Product design standard experience in areas like
    • Accessibility
    • Error messaging
    • Programming interface
    • Visual design
    • API design
  • Experience with process improvement methods and tools within a software company.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and software development method or previous experience in a software/tech company.
