Job Description
This role will partner cross-functionally to assess the commercial potential of internal and external opportunities for Vertex's Sandbox. This will include the commercial assessment of new disease areas to be added to the Sandbox as well as the assessment of all potential external assets and new technologies to support existing or emerging Sandbox diseases.
This dynamic and high-profile role will play an important part in setting the strategic direction of Vertex's disease areas of interest and the assets and technologies available to deliver commercial success. This position will report to the Director, Commercial Assessments, within Global Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial assessments of new disease areas, targets, and platforms, working closely with Research, Development, Real World Evidence, Business Development, Finance and Pricing & Reimbursement
- Assess internal and external disease programs, targets, or technology to determine if they fit the Vertex Commercial Model
- Identify new disease areas for Vertex Sandbox consideration and determine if they merit detailed evaluation
- Lead competitive intelligence efforts for new opportunities
- Contribute to the commercial section of BD assessments and represent commercial during due diligence
- Represent and report on commercial assessments to the Science and Sandbox Extension Committee for review and approval by Executive Committee
