Primary Responsibilities
In the role of New England Section Manager-Highway & Roads, we'll count on you to:
Manage the New England based Civil Engineering staff in the HDR MA, CT, NH and ME offices. This leadership position also involves project management support to ensure projects are completed on time and in budget, and participate in and provide leadership for marketing and business development for the section. Specific duties are as follows:

Personnel
*Responsible for operations of the New England Region Civil Section including staff development and mentoring
*Responsible for performance evaluations and project delivery.
*Administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
*Implement, monitor and support company policy
*Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel


Project Management
*Take responsibility for and delegation of operations of New England Region Civil Section including, scheduling, staff leveling, profitability and quality control
*Function as a Project Manager on major projects and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities
*Oversee Section operations to ensure that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system
*Work cooperatively with Regional Business Group leaders or peers on production efforts and staffing needs.
*Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives for the New England Civil group.
*Comprehensive knowledge of the overall Civil Section function.

*Work collaboratively with Deputy Section Managers
*Experience with D/B preferred


Marketing/Business Development
*Work with client managers in the support of business development strategies
*Lead, direct and contribute to marketing, planning, proposal efforts and interviews
*Lead, direct and contribute to the development and expansion of private and public clients
*Work cooperatively with Regional Business Group leaders or peers in local and national marketing efforts.

Qualifications

Qualifications
*Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering discipline is required.
*20 years' experience in transportation focused civil engineering which should include 10 years management/leadership experience
*PE is required. Professional registration or license in each New England state (MA, NH, ME and preferably CT) or ability to obtain is required.
*Strong communication and listening skills
*Ability to handle multiple assignments
*Good leadership and organizational skills
*An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
